چکیده :

Business Intelligence (BI) has evolved significantly, transitioning from traditional Decision Support Systems (DSS) to a powerful ecosystem leveraging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and cloud computing. Traditional BI systems primarily focused on structured data and historical reporting, but they were limited by their inflexibility and reliance on IT expertise. Next-generation BI addresses these limitations with features such as real-time operational analytics, situational awareness, and self-service capabilities. These advancements enable organizations to integrate diverse data sources, perform predictive analytics, and empower decision-makers across all levels. This paper explores the evolution of BI, emphasizing innovations in data architecture, such as in-memory databases and hybrid models, and the integration of data lakes for managing diverse data types. Challenges, including data governance, user adoption, and ethical concerns, are discussed alongside solutions such as robust governance frameworks and augmented analytics. Through use cases in healthcare and retail, this study highlights how modern BI enhances decision-making, operational efficiency, and strategic planning. The paper concludes by examining emerging trends, including quantum computing and IoT, which promise to shape the future of BI. These insights aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of BI’s transformative journey and its potential for driving organizational success.
